Now there is a new way to keep in touch. Please register on this website to participate in the Rushcliffe Borough Community. You will be able to report information regarding anti-social behaviour and other issues that you see or hear within our area. In association with the Local Police and the Borough and County Councils, the Neighbourhood Watch can then look at the quality of life within Rushcliffe and use the intelligence to take appropriate action where necessary.

The South Notts Police partnerships officer, Nigel Turner says: "Neighbourhood Watch is a great way for people to work together to make the quality of life in their community better. It gives people a louder voice to tackle problems - not just of crime and antisocial behaviour. Environmental matters such as littering, flytipping or dog fouling can be improved by working in partnership with the Borough Council."

He added "the work done by volunteers is invaluable. Neighbourhood Alert allows you to be part of a virtual Neighbourhood Watch group but remain hidden if you prefer to. It’s about people in Rushcliffe looking out for each other through being better informed about what’s going on where they live and work and contributing without having to attend meetings, patrol in pairs or sit curtain-twitching. It has been proven to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour in other areas where it operates already and we want as many people in Rushcliffe as possible to get involved and help keep crime to a minimum. We can send out details of current trends to anyone who wants to get involved."

Mike Douglas from VISAV Limited: the IT business behind Neighbourhood Alert said: “The Alert system has been taken up successfully in other areas such as Lenton Abbey, Sherwood, Wollaton and The Park in Nottingham and I am sure that Rushcliffe Borough will be no different. People love the system because it really works and helps to reinforce a community to fight crime and Anti Social Behaviour.”

Nigel Turner says "The role of volunteers should never be under-estimated. community-minded people provide an invaluable service to the police, performing support roles that officers struggle to find the time for,” he added. “We’re always on the lookout for help and would urge anyone who has some spare time on their hands and wants to help to get in touch. Volunteering is very worthwhile and rewarding. It gives you another dimension as well as an understanding of just how much the police can do as well as the problems they must overcome."
